Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Chairman of SALIC Group, Abdulrahman Al-Fadhli, inaugurated today the Yanbu grain handling terminal, located in Yanbu Commercial Port, which is affiliated with the National Grain Company.

 

The terminal has a capacity of up to 156,000 tons and includes 12 silos with a total capacity of 96,000 tons and a 650-meter conveyor belt, in addition to its ability to unload directly from ships with a capacity of 800 tons per hour and an annual handling capacity exceeding three million tons of grain, according to a statement.

 

Through the Yanbu terminal, the National Grain Co. aims to boost the grain trade, handling and storage, as well as strengthening supply chains and price stability in the Kingdom, while providing logistical support to all importers from the public and private sectors. According to data available to Argaam, the National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia (Bahri) signed an agreement to establish an equally owned joint venture (JV), the National Grain Company, with the Saudi Agricultural and Livestock Investment Company (SALIC), at an estimated cost of SAR 412.5 million ($110 million).
