Governor of Madinah Region Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz inaugurated the Madinah Gate project in Knowledge Economic City (KEC), with an initial investment of SAR 600 million for the first phase.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the project spans a total area of 37,000 square meters (sqm) across its first and second phases, offering approximately 22,000 sqm of leasable space. The development integrates hospitality, transportation, and retail sectors into a cohesive urban hub.

Amin Shaker, Chairman of KEC, said the project is the result of collaboration between the Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR) and KEC. It is the first of several initiatives in the city’s southern region, located adjacent to the train station. The project aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 by enhancing the hospitality, housing, entertainment, retail, and cultural sectors to cater to Madinah’s visitors.
The Madinah Gate project aims to develop land surrounding the Haramain High-Speed Railway station in Madinah and the area along Prince Naif Road. It is the first of its kind in the Kingdom, connecting transportation hubs with complementary services and facilities, according to Argaam data.
The project comprises three main components: a four-star hotel and serviced apartments, a retail and entertainment area featuring markets, shops, and restaurants, and a bus and public transport station directly linked to the train station.
The development will also include a commercial and entertainment center with 23,000 sqm of leasable space.
