Jubail and Yanbu Industrial Cities Services Company (JABEEN) inked, on Dec. 29, 2024, an agreement with Aloula Aviation Co. to operate Jubail Airport, according to a company statement.

JABEEN is 100% owned by the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu (RCJY) and Aloula Aviation is wholly owned by Saudi Arabian Oil Co. (Saudi Aramco).

The agreement represents the first step towards obtaining a license from the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA). It is expected that all licensing requirements will be fulfilled, allowing the airport to start operations as a private aviation hub for both domestic and international flights in the near future.
