Diriyah Gate Development Authority’s (DGDA) CEO Jerry Inzerillo said that projects in the giga-project are on track and in line with budget.
He revealed that the historic Diriyah district, including Wadi Hanifa and Wadi Safar, will be ready to welcome Riyadh Expo 2030 visitors.
In a statement to Argaam, Inzerillo said that the development of infrastructure in Diriyah is proceeding at a rapid pace, noting that the opening of two power sub-stations represents a major step towards achieving the project’s vision to provide an integrated and sustainable environment that serves 100,000 people daily who will live, work, shop and visit the area.

The two sub-stations will contribute significantly to accelerating the growth and development of assets in Diriyah and Wadi Safar, including residential, cultural, hotel and hospitality projects, he stressed.
The CEO also stated that Wadi Safar will include 400 farms and 10 luxury resorts, including Aman Hotel, Oberoi Hotel, Chedi Hotel and Faena Hotel, noting that work is proceeding well on the construction of the 27-hole golf course designed by Greg Norman and the Royal Equestrian and Polo Club.
Wadi Safar spans more than 60 square kilometers (sq km), and only 10% of it will be developed to preserve its natural beauty, said the CEO, expecting the project to be completed by 2030.
Diriyah Co. announced today, Jan. 6, the opening of two power sub-stations in Diriyah, jointly with Saudi Electricity Co. (SEC), at a cost of SAR 682 million. The 1,707 MVA bulk substation will serve the assets in the first phase of Diriyah’s development, while the 200 MVA primary substation will power the Wadi Safar projects.
DGDA started the first phase of rehabilitating and developing historic Diriyah in June 2020, with a value of SAR 75 billion. The master plan covers an area of seven sq km and includes a variety of tourism and entertainment spots, according to data compiled by Argaam.
