Saudi Arabia proceeds with its approach for transition to an innovative and sustainable economy, leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) and innovation under the support of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, said Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Abdullah Alswaha.
The current economic transformations offer an unprecedented opportunity to strengthen international cooperation and build an inclusive, sustainable future based on artificial intelligence to serve humanity.
During a panel discussion titled “Economic Transformations in the Kingdom” at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Alswaha highlighted that success in the age of AI requires a combination of realistic optimism and a focus on fundamentals.
The Kingdom has established advanced digital infrastructure, attracting investments exceeding $10.6 billion in cloud computing from global giants such as Amazon, Microsoft, and Google.
With the support and empowerment of its leadership, the Kingdom has made significant strides in enabling digital talent within the framework of Vision 2030. Women’s participation in the tech sector rose from 7% to 35%, and the number of tech professionals has doubled to reach 381,000 talents.
The Kingdom also aims to bridge the digital gap in artificial intelligence by focusing on international collaboration and addressing deficiencies in computing, data, and algorithms. Success stories include the use of AI in sectors like healthcare and energy, as well as innovations in medical robotics and other fields.
