Rumaih Al-Rumaih, Deputy Minister of Transport and Logistics Services and Acting Chairman of the General Transport Authority, said the transport and logistics sector has seen a 100% increase in its workforce over the past four years.

 

Speaking at the Global Labor Market Conference in Riyadh, Al-Rumaih noted that Saudi women account for 84% of the sector’s labor force. He added that Saudi participation in the sector has risen to 47%, with 66% of jobs requiring high skills, according to SPA.

 

He emphasized ongoing efforts to localize the sector in the next phase, targeting the creation of up to 300,000 jobs.

 

The ministry has developed a sectoral strategy aligned with Vision 2030 through various initiatives within the transport and logistics sector, aiming to enhance efficiency and generate new job opportunities, Al-Rumaih added.
