Alkhorayef explores investment opportunities with major industry, mining Indian firms

Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef held a series of bilateral meetings with executives from leading Indian companies in the industry and mining sectors in New Delhi yesterday.
 
According to a press release from the ministry, these meetings explored joint investment opportunities in the mining sector, the automotive and electric vehicle industry, and advanced manufacturing solutions.
 
During the discussions, Alkhorayef highlighted the major opportunities offered by the National Industry Strategy in several advanced industrial sectors, as well as the goals of the comprehensive mining strategy. He also emphasized the enablers provided by the Kingdom to facilitate the experience of both local and international investors in the industrial and mining sectors.
 

The discussions also tackled the latest advanced manufacturing solutions, including 3D printing and additive manufacturing, opportunities for knowledge exchange in design and prototyping technologies, the development of digital infrastructure in the industrial sector, as well as promising opportunities to localize the production of cars, electric vehicles, and their components in the Kingdom.

 

Moreover, they explored the latest sustainable mining practices, in addition to building effective partnerships in the field of rare metals processing.

 

Alkhorayef met with top executives from Vedanta Group, Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd., Ashok Leyland, UNO Minda and Divide by Zero Technologies.

 

He also witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the National Center for Industrial Development and India’s Ashok Leyland, with the aim of localizing the manufacture of electric vehicles, buses, and trucks in the Kingdom.
