Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources said 30 bidders were qualified to obtain 22 licenses for building materials quarries, to exploit ordinary sand and gravel in Eastern Province and Tabuk, in each of Northwest Salwa West Complex, Al-Masna Crushers Complex, and South Wadi Aamq Complex.

As many as 49 applications were filed in the tender for the offered sites, said the ministry, adding that these mining exploitation licenses are part of the ongoing efforts to exploit mineral resources in Saudi Arabia, raise the percentage of the mining sector's contribution to GDP, enhance transparency, and support the local industry.

The tender goes through four stages, starting with fulfilling the qualification requirements, then announcing the qualified bidders, then starting the bidding process for the sites, followed by announcing the bidding results and winning companies.

The coming period will include providing technical introductory workshops for the qualified bidders, field visits to the designated sites, and finally an electronic auction for site distribution.
