US stocks fell at today’s opening as investors await the Fed minutes, amid growing fears of a trade war after President Donald Trump threatened to impose tariffs on cars and chips.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average went down 0.4%, or 180 points, to 44,375 at 05:38 p.m. Makkah time.
The S&P 500 also fell 0.2% to 6,116 pts, and the Nasdaq Composite slipped 0.15%, or 35 points, to 20,006 pts.
This negative performance comes after the S&P 500 closed at a record high on Tuesday, despite ongoing concerns about inflation and Trump's protectionist policies.
