The US natural gas inventories decreased by 261 billion cubic feet (Bcf) during the week ended Feb. 21, below expectations of a 265-Bcf decline.
Total natural gas reserves amounted to 1.84 trillion cubic feet, a slump of 23.4%, or about 561 Bcf, compared to the same period last year, showed the data from the US Energy Information Administration.
The current inventories are lower by 11.5%, or about 238 Bcf, below the five-year average (2020-2024) of 2.07 trillion cubic feet.
