Ministry of Commerce released results of its latest analysis of auto dealers in Saudi Arabia, in its efforts to enhance transparency while also giving consumers insights into industry performance and service quality to help them make informed purchasing decisions.
In a statement issued on March 4, the ministry noted that this assessment fosters competition among dealers and improves service quality, being updated periodically.
Analysis is based on four key criteria: inventory and reservation data, after-sales services, compliance levels, and consumer rights protection.
A total of 16 performance metrics gauge dealer commitment, including availability of on-demand models, waiting lists, maintenance turnaround times, and spare parts availability.
The ministry emphasized that these criteria were designed to develop the Saudi automotive sector and address consumer challenges.
The methodology was created in partnership with consumers, the private sector — represented by the Cars Agents National Committee — and local auto dealers.
