GAC approves 26 economic concentration applications in February

The General Authority for Competition (GAC) announced decisions on economic concentration applications for February 2025.

 

GAC approved 26 applications, including mergers and acquisitions (M&As), and joint ventures (JVs), following a thorough study of the relevant markets.

 

In an official statement, GAC said that 73% of the approvals were for acquisition requests, while 19% were for JV requests. Merger requests accounted for 8% of the total approved requests.

The statement added that the issued decisions included one conditional approval for the economic concentration between The National Company for Glass Industries (Zoujaj) and Saudi Arabian Glass Co. (SAGCO).

 

The remaining 25 decisions were non-objections, GAC noted.
