Al Jouf Cement Co. signed today, March 11, an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract with the National Electricity Transmission Co. (National Grid SA), a subsidiary of the Saudi Electricity Co. (SEC), to build a power transmission station.

 

The new station will provide electrical power to the SEC unit’s Turaif-based plant, with a 63.2-MVA load capacity, according to a Tadawul filing.

This deal is part of Saudi Arabia’s Liquid Fuel Displacement Program (LFDP). It is valid until Dec. 31, 2025, or until the project’s completion.

 

The agreement is an extension of the efforts undertaken under the national energy system as well as the industrial and mining sectors to achieve the LFDP’s objectives.

 

Further, the project will contribute to reducing emissions from electricity generation within the company's facilities, while enhancing operational reliability, implying no material financial impact, it added.
