Bank loans to public, private sectors up 15% to SAR 3.1T in January

Saudi bank loans granted to non-financial government institutions and private sectors rose 15% by the end of January 2025 to SAR 3.11 trillion, compared to SAR 2.70 trillion in the same month a year earlier, according to data issued by the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA).

Bank loans to the private sector increased by 14% year-on-year (YoY) to SAR 2.89 trillion for the same month, the central bank said.

 

Meanwhile, loans granted to public non-financial institutions jumped 37% YoY to about SAR 214 billion by the end of January.
