US President Donald Trump
US President Donald Trump said he will impose broad reciprocal tariffs and additional levies on specific sectors starting April 2.
Bloomberg quoted Trump as telling reporters aboard Air Force One that certain foreign goods exported to the United States will be subject to both types of tariffs.
“They charge us and we charge them and then in addition to that on autos on steel on aluminum we are going to have additional tariffs,” he said on Sunday.
Trump’s remarks signal his determination to pursue a tougher trade policy despite market volatility following the imposition of new tariffs.
