National Metal Manufacturing and Casting Co. (Maadaniyah) announced that the pickling section, the first production phase of the wire drawing and related products factory in Jubail Industrial City, resumed operations after being rehabilitated.
The factory had previously suffered damage from a limited fire.
In a statement to Tadawul, Maadaniyah said costs for replacing tools and machinery totaled approximately SAR 2.5 million, which was covered by insurance.
Partial damage occurred in the pickling section, but other production lines continued without interruption as they were not affected by the fire.
Maadaniyah indicated that the pickling section’s rehabilitation and re-operation were completed after all requirements were met with the insurance firm and other regulatory authorities, noting that there is no longer any negative impact on the target production.
The delay in repairing the section beyond the expected date was due to the contractor's delay in providing materials and the necessity to adhere to revised safety regulations issued by the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu.
According to data compiled by Argaam, Maadaniyah announced, in January 2024, a limited fire broke out in the chemical pickling section of its wire drawing and related products factory in Jubail Industrial City.
In March 2024, the company stated that the pickling section was the first process for all factory products, and some of the machines in this zone were affected due to the fire, leading to a drop in the target production.
