US natural gas inventories rose by 9 billion cubic feet (bcf) during the week ended March 14, against expectations for a 12 bcf drop.
Data issued by the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) today, March 20, showed that total natural gas inventories stood at 1.707 trillion cubic feet (tcf), down 26.8% (or approximately 624 bcf) from the same period last year.
Additionally, inventories were 10% (or about 190 bcf) below the five-year average (2020-2024) of 1.897 tcf.
