GACA issues airport performance report for March

The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) issued its monthly report on the performance of domestic and international airports in Saudi Arabia for March 2025.

GACA evaluates airport performance using 11 key indicators, including passenger wait times at check-in, baggage claim, and passport control. The framework also includes accessibility standards and global best practices.

The GACA classifies airports into five categories. Among international airports handling over 15 million passengers annually, Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport ranked first with an 82% compliance rate, surpassing Jeddah’s King Abdulaziz International Airport (73%) in key performance standards.

In the category of international airports with five to 15 million passengers annually, King Fahd International Airport (KFIA) ranked first with 91% compliance, followed by Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport (Madinah) with 82%.

Among international airports with two to five million passengers annually, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Airport (Jizan) ranked first with 100% compliance, surpassing Abha International Airport, which also scored 100% in key performance standards.

In the category of international airports with less than two million passengers annually, la-Ahsa International Airport led with a 100% compliance rate, excelling in average wait times for departure and arrival.

For domestic airports, Al-Qurrayat Airport topped the domestic category with 100% compliance, outperforming all competitors in average wait times for departure and arrival.
