Majid Khan, CEO of the Air Connectivity Program (ACP), said that the number of flights between Riyadh and London currently stands at 42 flights per week, including seven flights via Virgin Atlantic alone, which represents a milestone in air connectivity as the program seeks to increase this number in the future.
In a statement to Argaam, Khan added that the launch of direct daily flights between Heathrow Airport in London and Riyadh, via Virgin Atlantic, is a key achievement that backs the Kingdom's tourism and aviation strategies.
He also pointed out that the direct daily operation from London to Riyadh strengthens the Kingdom's connection with the United Kingdom and spurs the flow of tourists and visitors between the two countries in both directions.
Virgin Atlantic has a wide network via its partner Delta Air Lines in the United States, which allows it to attract more tourists from North America and Europe to the Kingdom via Heathrow Airport, said the top executive.
He stressed that the program is joining hands with partners to further stimulate the market and launch new routes to various cities in the Kingdom that have tourism potential.
