SAR 650m penalties against STC in 2013, STC appeals:

The communication and Information Technology Commission (CITC) issued 601 administrative decisions against the Saudi Telecom Company (STC) with a total amount of SAR 650m, STC said in its annual report published yesterday.
The report indicated that the reasons for these decisions varied from prepaid sim-cards issuance and customer complaints to providing unapproved offers.

STC appealed against those decisions at the board of grievance,
the following judgments were issued:

 

  • 12 preliminary judgments in STC’s favor with a total amount of SAR 35.25m.
  • 2 final judgments in STC’s favor amounting to SAR 5.17.
  • 12 final judgments against STC with a total amount of SAR 343,000.
