Trial operation of the National Industrialization Co. (Tasnee) and Sahara Petrochemicals ‘ joint venture in Jubail to produce super absorbent polymers are still undergoing and the factory is expected to be fully operational later on this year, the two companies said in a statement.
The financial impact will be difficult to measure at this stage, the companies said.
Tasnee and Sahara owns 52.3 percent and 43.16 percent of Saudi Acrylic Acid Company (SAAC) respectively. SAAC’s subsidiary, Saudi Acrylic Polymer Co. SAPCO- which is planned to produce the super absorbent polymers, is 75 percent owned by SAAC and 25 percent by Germany’s Evonik Industries
