Sahara Petrochemicals halts production at polypropylene unit

Sahara Petrochemicals halted production at its subsidiary Al-Waha Petrochemical Company’s polypropylene unit today due to technical glitch, a filing to Tadawul said.

The company said production shall resume within no more than nine days, anticipating a nine million riyal loss as per current market price.

Sahara Petrochemicals said the loss will be reflected in the third quarter, and that, during the halt time, it will use its inventory to cover demand.
