Qassim Cement board orders halt of new project to reconsider feasibility

Qassim Cement Company announced on 24/12/2013 that its board of directors, at its meeting on 23/12/2013, reconsidered some developments that may affect the feasibility of a new production line and ordered a reconsideration of the feasibility of the project. The company said the result of the new feasibility assessment will be announced in the first half of 2014 or on emergence of any major developments.

The company said earlier in the year it was considering the establishment a fresh 5500 tonnes/day cement production line with, and said it was receiving bids from contractors for the implementation of the project.
