Gulf Petrochemical Industries Co. (GPIC) is studying a project to expand its plants located in Bahrain at a cost ranging from $1.5 to $2 billion; Dr. Abdulrahman A.Hussain Jawahery, CEO of the Company said.
He added that the expansion will increase ammonia production by 2200 tons per day and 3600 tons of granular urea. GPIC produces 700 thousand tons of urea annually and it produced 12.5 million tons of urea and 12.2 tons of methanols since its operation in 1985.
According to data available on “Argaam”, GPIC is equally owned by the Government of Bahrain, SABIC and Kuwait Petrochemical Industries Company K.S.C.
