The National Industrialization co. (Tasnee) announced today on Tadawul that the Saudi Butanol company "a Saudi Acrylic Acid Co. Ltd affiliate" signed a contact with the South Korean Industrial Dilem company to construct a SAR 1.1bn butanol plant in the petrochemicals industrial complex in Jubail.
The Korean company will start the construction work in January 2014 for 17 months.
The plant will have an annual capacity of 330,000 tons of n-butanol, 11000 tons of Isobutanol and is expected to begin trail operations in Q2 of 2015.
Tasnee which owns 52.3% of the Saudi Acrylic Acid Co. will operate the project.
