Sipchem awards ethyl plant contract to Korean firm

Sipchem awarded yesterday the engineering design, supply and construction (turn-key) contract of its ethyl acetate and butyl acetate plant to Korea’s eTech for Engineering and Construction.

The plant will be located at Jubail Industrial City, and will produce 100,000 tonnes of ethyl acetate and butyl acetate annually.

Sipchem said the project’s initial cost is SAR 350 million, and it will be operational in the first quarter of 2013.
