Prince Saud: Sadara project is ‘progressing’

05/11/2014 Argaam

The Sadara project is progressing well and has already passed a substantial stage of the development process, said Prince Saudi bin Thunayan, chairman of the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu.

Prince Saud denied rumors that the project was “faltering,” according to a report by Al Sharq newspaper.

He pointed out that the commission doesn’t interfere in the internal affairs of companies on site, and that its role is to simply provide the infrastructure for each project or company.

Khalid al-Falih, head of Saudi Aramco recently said in a statement that the Sadara project is 70 percent complete and should be up and running next year, according to data available on Argaam.

The Sadara Chemical Company project is a joint venture between Saudi Aramco and Dow Chemicals. The project aims to construct and operate and integrated chemicals complex in Jubail’s industrial city with investments estimated at $20 billion.
