Saudi investment funds’ assets increase 5 percent in the 3rd quarter of 2014

The value of assets in Saudi investment funds rose 5 percent to SAR 121.54 billion in the 3rd quarter of this year compared to the 2nd quarter, after local investment assets had increased 6 percent, according to a quarterly report by Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency, SAMA, obtained by Argaam.

The investment funds assets include, among other things, foreign and local shares, bonds and real estate investments.

There were as many as 250 funds by the end of the 3rd quarter of 2014 compared to 236 by the end of 2013.

 

The highest number of funds was established in 2008, reaching 262 before decreasing in the following years.
