Takween awards contracts of new production line

Takween announces that on July 11, 2012 it finalized the awarding procedures of the engineering, construction and supply works of its third nonwoven fabric production line at Rabigh Complex for Plastic Technology. The project’s works were awarded to both Al-Zamil Steel and Azzam Trading & Contracting Company—both highly reputed local companies.

The project will help enhance the company’s production capacity of nonwoven fabric by 50%. The factory’s current annual capacity is 28,000 metric tonnes.

The expansion is expected to enhance the company’s market placement. Commercial production is expected in the second quarter of 2013, and further developments will be announced in due course.
