Gasco Fire Injures Staff Members in Medina: Report

12/11/2014 Argaam

Several staff members at the National Gas & Industrialization Company (Gasco) were injured on Monday after a gas fire broke out.

The fire included several gas cylinders on the first circuit of the company's gas supply in Medina, according to a report published by Al Watan newspaper.

Preventive crews managed to tame the fire before Saudi's civil defense teams arrived on the scene.

Last month, Saudi Arabia’s National Commission for Combatting Corruption, also known as Nazaha, said that it brought the company’s attention to its deteriorating conditions and poor safety standards, according to data available on Argaam.

Nazaha has been monitoring Gasco closely, particularly after a gas tanker explosion two years ago resulted in several deaths and substantial material losses at the company's Riyadh-based location.
