STC, Arabsat to set up new satellite ground station

10/12/2014 Argaam

The Arab Satellite Communications Organization (Arabsat) and Saudi Arabia’s Telecom Company (STC) plan to establish a new ground station to be used for Badr 5 satellite as part of their latest shared project.

The move comes as STC strives to keep up with the growing demand for satellite communication services, the company said in a statement obtained by Argaam.

The project further underlines the experience that STC and Arabsat both have in the field of development and communication in the Middle East, said Abdulaziz Alsaqir, board chairman of STC.

Arabsat is the sole operator of satellite services in the Middle East. The organization offers a full range of telecommunications and broadcasting services, as well as broadband services through its growing fleet of satellites.
