Gulf companies distributed more than USD 33.58 billion in dividends in 2013, says Argaam survey

Gulf companies distributed more than USD 33.58 billion in dividends in 2013, according to a survey by Argaam.

Dividends yields dropped to 3.1 percent in 2013 from 3.9 percent in the previous year as the companies’ market capitalization grew faster than dividends distributed.

  Muscat and Bahrain topped the list of the best dividends distributing markets, making more than 4 percent yield as shown in the following table:

Argaam’s survey for the largest 20 companies in terms of market capitalization indicated that “SAFCO” is the highest dividends yield company for the second consecutive year followed by Etisalat (UAE) and Qatar industries as follows:
