Etihad Etisalat (Mobily), Saudi Arabia’s second-largest telecom operator, has decided to replace its board of directors’ representative Ibrahim Mohammed Al-Saif with Suliman bin Abdulrahman Al-Gwaiz, governor of the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI).

The decision comes at Al-Saif’s request, the company said on Wednesday in its statement to Tadawul, Saudi’s bourse. Both members are non-executive and the decision is effective starting Jan. 10, it added.

Al-Gwaiz has extensive banking experience, and he is currently chairman of Banque Saudi Fransi’s board.

His appointment will be presented to the company’s shareholders in their next general assembly meeting for approval, the statement added.
