Saudi Aramco has said that scheduled maintenance at its Yanbu refinery was not a contributing factor to the cooking gas crisis which recently crippled homes across the kingdom.
Maintenance is a routine measure that is carried out annually, Aramco said.
The state-owned company pointed out that it has been supplying the National Gas and Industrialization Co. (GASCO) with its daily quota during the gas supply shortage in Jeddah.
The oil producer said that it provided "higher than average" butane gas levels during the crisis. However, GASCO gas trucks used a lower than average quota, Aramo claimed.
Aramco added that it is committed to providing all fuel products, including liquefied petroleum gas to meet market needs.
