Saudi cbank reserves down SAR 75 bln in January

Saudi Arabia’s general reserves dropped to SAR 830 billion by the end of January, a SAR 75 billion decline compared to December of last year, said the kingdom’s central bank.

Last October, general reserves added on SAR 103 billion to end the month with SAR 905 billion, according to data compiled by Argaam.

Budget surplus is usually transferred to the general reserves, which may not be accessed without a royal decree and only in extreme cases, according to Saudi regulations.
