SABIC launches new range of non-phthalate polymer products

09/03/2015 Argaam
Saudi Arabian Basic Industries Corp (SABIC), which is 70-percent government-owned, has developed and commercially launched a new non-phthalate polymer product used in making hygiene fabrics and flexible packaging, the petrochemical giant said in a statement sent to Argaam.

The new product will be marketed worldwide to meet a global demand for polypropylene products using non-phthalate catalysts, it added.

Other innovative products include non-woven fabrics introduced in February, and biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) films, which will be launched later on this year.

The spun bond fiber is used in surgical garments, medical masks, baby and adult diapers, as well as absorbent pads and swabs. The film grade is used in flexible packaging.
