Sipchem says IGC, IAC plants to shut for maintenance

Saudi International Petrochemical Co. (Sipchem) said on Thursday​ operations will be temporarily suspended at its affiliates’ carbon monoxide and acetic acid plants for scheduled maintenance as of April 1

 
The units, owned by Sipchem’s subsidiaries International Gases Company (IGC) and International Acetyl Complex
​ (IAC)​
, will be halted for 20 and 26 days, respectively.
 
Sipchem said it took all procedures necessary 
​to 
mitigate
​ ​
losses
​​
​ and to reduc
e financial impact
​, which is​
 expected 
​to reflect on 
this year’s financials.
 
The temporary shutdown was accounted for in this year’s budget, 
​it 
added.
 
Sipchem
​ currently​
 owns 72 percent of IGC and 76 percent of IAC.
