Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) plans to acquire more than 100 new planes as part of its strategic plan over the next five years to increase operational efficiency and improve services, the state news agency reported.

The kingdom’s flag carrier has hired a global consultancy firm to help draft the plan.

In first quarter of 2015, the company transported 6.15 million travelers, a surge of 714,000 passengers compared to same period a year ago. Domestic and international flights have also increased by 2,200 flights to 45,200 flights.
