TASI bounces 2.2% as equities gain

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) staged a strong recovery on Wednesday from the previous session loss, climbing 2.2 percent, or 198 points, to 9,164. 
 
The total value of traded shares increased to SAR 8.7 billion. 
 
Most equities ended in the positive territory. SABIC, the kingdom’s largest petrochemicals producer, jumped two percent to SAR 85.24. 
 
Meanwhile, Al-Rajhi, Saudi’s second-largest listed bank climbed four percent to SAR 58.81. 
 
National Commercial Bank ended the day at SAR 64.77, advancing over two percent fueled by a three percent growth year-on-year in first quarter net profit to SAR 2.605 billion. 
 
Bank Al-Jazira finished four percent higher at SAR 30.07, bolstered by its strong quarterly earnings. 
 
Savola, Jabal Omar, Alinma Bank, Dar Al-Arkan and Bahri added between two and six percent. 
 
Saudi Arabia's largest fast-food chain Herfy soared seven percent to SAR 125.86, its highest closing ever. 
 
In the negative territory, SAFCO lost two percent to SAR 113.82. The stock was hurt by the company’s announcement of a 30 percent drop year-on-year in Q1 net earnings to SAR 590 million.
