Phase 2 of Total-Aramco Satorp downstream project could be feasible with possible synergies with the existing refinery, Middle East Economic Digest (MEED) reported, citing Jean Viallefont, French Total’s vice president for Asia.
Phase 2, derailed in 2012, was planned to have a mixed-feed hydrocracker that would use output from Phase 1 refinery to produce petrochemicals.
The 400,000-barrel a day Phase 1 refinery started production last year.
