Jacobs Engineering Group has landed a four-year contract from Sadara Chemical Co. (Sadara) for engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) services, the US-based company said in a press statement.
Under the terms of the contract, Jacobs is providing both domestic and international EPCM services to Jubail–based Sadara. The domestic services will be delivered from Jacobs' local operations in Saudi with support from its extensive global network. The contract value was not yet disclosed.
The complex is expected to become partially operational by the second half of this year and come into full production by 2016. By bringing the new facility on line, Sadara is aiming to introduce various new products into the kingdom, including the first isocyanate and polyol (polyurethane) facilities.
Established in October 2011, Sadara is a joint venture between Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco) and The Dow Chemical Company (Dow), with a total investment of about $20 billion.
