Saudi-listed banks witnessed a 21 percent drop in provisions to SAR 1.454 billion in first quarter , compared to the same quarter in 2014, new research from Argaam has shown.
When compared to the previous quarter (Q4-2014), provisions in Q1 fell 14 percent, brought down mainly by National Commercial Bank (NCB), Riyad Bank, as well as Saudi British Bank.

Seven out of 12 banks included in the study posted a decline, led by Saudi Investment Bank (SAIB) at 84 percent, Banque Saudi Fransi (BSF) at 66 percent, and Bank Aljazira at 44 percent.
Meanwhile, five banks recorded growth, as Bank Albilad and Alinma Bank more than doubled their provisions.
