Zain Saudi’s unified flat rate said to impact STC, Mobily

Zain Saudi’s recent decision to reducing calling rates will likely lead others like Saudi Telecom Co. and Etihad Etisalat Co. (Mobily) to do the same, Alriyadh newspaper has reported, citing Obaid Al Abdili, a board member at Saudi Arabia’s Consumer Protection Association (CPA).

He added mobile users will benefit directly from the measures, which he hopes will be extended to include data services in the kingdom.

Argaam reported Thursday on Zain Saudi’s introduction of a new and unified flat rate of SAR 0.19 per minute that applies to all on-and-off network calls within the country.
