Yamama Cement Company, the fourth-largest Saudi cement producer, is in talks with an international company to set up a 20,000-ton clinker plant in Al-Kharj, the company said in a statement to Tadawul, without mentioning the name of the company.
Yamama, which plans to relocate its factory from the urban areas of Riyadh, to Northern Hallal in Al-Kharj, said that it has received a license from the Ministry of Petroleum to operate a raw materials quarry located in Al-Kharj Governorate.
In 2014, the Ministry of Petroleum granted the company three licenses to explore raw materials outside the city of Riyadh.
