Etihad Etisalat Co. (Mobily), Saudi Arabia’s second largest telecom operator, has appointed Ahmad Farroukh as its new chief executive officer, effective from Sunday, the company said in a statement.
Farroukh, a 54-year old Lebanese national, previously held the position of CEO of MTN South Africa. He also has more than 30 years of international business experience in the Middle East, Europe, Africa, and North America.
“His professional career shows a proven track record of success in the area of financial management, audit and operations,” the company added.
Farroukh holds a CPA certification (Certified Public Accountant) from New York, U.S.
Deputy CEO Serkan Okandan has been serving as acting chief executive since November after Mobily suspended former CEO Khalid Al-Kaf.
Al-Kaf was sacked in February after the company revealed erroneus accounting reports in its financial statements.
