Saudi Arabian Fertilizer Company (SAFCO) started on Tuesday the commercial operation of SAFCO 5 urea plant in its industrial complex in Jubail, the company said in a statement to the Saudi exchange.
The financial impact of the project will be reflected in the second half of 2015, it added.
SAFCO, a unit of Saudi Basic Industries Corp (SABIC), delayed the plant’s launch from June to July this quarter, but the company said it did not expect additional costs, according to Argaam.
The capacity of the plant is estimated to be 1.1 million tons of urea a year.
