City Cement Co. has started pilot operations in its alternative energy project on Sunday, the Saudi-based cement producer said in a bourse statement.

Trial operations will continue for nearly two months before it can start producing product for commercial use.

The cement producer said the project, which is valued at SAR 25 million, is being financed by its own resources and will contribute to operations on the second production line, according to data available on Argaam.
