SABIC says UK LDPE plant running normally

17/11/2015 Argaam

Saudi Basic Industries Corp (SABIC) has said that its low density polyethylene (LDPE) plant in Wilton, United Kingdom, is running normally, after delayed deliveries triggered speculations about production suspension, ICIS reported, citing a spokesperson for the company.

The 400,000 tons-a-year facility is the largest LDPE plant in Europe. LDPE spot prices have risen to 1,300 euro a ton from 1,200 a ton early October.

LDPE is used in packaging and in the agricultural industry.
