International Methanol Co (IMC), a 65 percent-owned subsidiary of Saudi International Petrochemical (Sipchem), will restart operations at its Jubail-based methanol plant in the second half of December, ICIS reported, citing a source close to the matter.
On November 1, operations were suspended at the one million tonne per year facility for a six-week turnaround.
Japan-Arabia Methanol Co. (JAMC), which owns the remaining 35 percent stake in IMC, is a subsidiary owned by a consortium of Japanese companies including Mitsui & Co., Mitsubishi Corp. and Daicel Chemical Industries.
