Kuwait’s consumer price index (CPI) for November 2015 rose 3.13 percent compared to the same month last year, according to a report by the Central Statistical Bureau.
The report, which notes 2007 as the base year, indicates how changes in the price of certain groups of commodities influence family expenditure and consumer spending.
CPI for the month of November rose 0.07 percent to 138.3 compared to the previous month due to an “increase in prices of some major groups which influence the movement of prices and the decrease in prices of other groups,” the report said.
Food and beverages, the most important group in the basket, rose 0.46 percent month-on-month. Meanwhile, tobacco and narcotics rose 0.26 percent on a yearly basis.
The clothing and footwear group fell 0.16 percent on a monthly basis, while housing services and transport remained stable.
The CPI of furnishing equipment and household maintenance goods went up 0.07 percent for November as compared to October; while health increased by 0.16 percent on a monthly basis, the report added.
